Stage, sound, lighting and tent rental in Mississauga
We deliver stages, podiums, sound, lighting, screens and tents to events in Mississauga. Mississauga is its own city with its own event and noise rules, separate from Toronto. This page summarizes what the City publishes.
Information from City and Environment Canada sources, checked October 2026. Rules change, so confirm with the City before you apply. This is planning information, not legal advice.

Outdoor events in City parks
- Small community events need no event permit, only a picnic shelter or park space booking.
- For medium events of 1,000 to 5,000 people a day, a City event coordinator starts working with you 90 days before. For large events over 5,000 a day it is 120 days before. If you expect peak attendance of 50,000 or more a day, the City asks you to notify the Outdoor Events Team at least a year ahead.
- The City refers you to an event coordinator if you plan amplified sound or live entertainment, generators, electrical connections, drones, fireworks, alcohol, open flames, inflatables, vendors, road closures or parades.
- Public amenities such as playgrounds, trails and pathways must stay open, and setup cannot block public access. Approved activities are printed on your permit as conditions of use.
- Insurance may be required, and the amount is set during review.

Tents and stages
- In City parks, tents larger than 10 × 10 ft, six or more 10 × 10 ft tents, or temporary tent structures over 60 square metres are referred to an event coordinator. Site plans and permits may be required.
- Temporary stages over 3 metres high are referred as well. Medium events can include a small stage or sound system, and large events a large stage with lighting and sound.
- The City building pages we reviewed did not state building or fire permit thresholds for tents and stages, so ask your coordinator what applies to your structure.

Noise exemption for amplified sound
- A noise exemption is required for special events with a live band, music or amplified sound between 7 p.m. and 9 a.m., every day of the week.
- The application must reach the City at least six weeks before the date. The published fee is $294.42 including HST.
- The process: the City prepares a notice, you deliver it to every resident within 120 m of the event, residents have two weeks to comment, and then the City decides and may add conditions.
- Conditions can include a decibel limit of up to 85 dB(A) or 105 dB(C), measured at the lot line of the event property.

Vendors, roads and parades
- Vendor, sales and charity events need a Special Event Licence submitted at least 45 days ahead, at $61.74 per vendor ($38.52 for City-affiliated groups). Food vendors need TSSA propane and Region of Peel health inspections.
- Events that block or occupy a road, sidewalk or boulevard, such as parades, need a special event permit submitted 12 weeks ahead, with a $2 million certificate of insurance and a route sketch.
- Residential street parties closing a street for under 10 hours need 4 weeks and a petition signed by at least 80% of residents in the closure area.

Where events are held
Public places the City lists include Celebration Square at 300 City Centre Drive downtown, Kariya Park, Jack Darling Memorial Park, Lakeside Park, and indoor venues such as the Living Arts Centre and Meadowvale Theatre. Capacity and rental terms for Celebration Square are not published on the page we reviewed, so ask the City. We list these as public information only; it does not mean we have worked at any of them.

Season and weather
The nearest Environment Canada normals station is Toronto Pearson (1981–2010). It shows average daily temperatures of about 13.1 °C in May, 18.6 °C in June, 21.5 °C in July and 16.2 °C in September. Frost is possible until around the end of April, and the first fall frost comes in mid-October. Winds over 40 km/h occur on about 1 to 2 days a month in summer and more in October and spring. Rain days (5 mm or more) run about 4 to 5 per month from May to September, so tents and a rain plan are worth including.

Events at Celebration Square
The City lists a winter kickoff at Celebration Square with a Santa Claus Parade, a tree lighting and the opening of the largest outdoor ice rink. The 2026 parade is listed for November 21.
